Fiona Gibson Group HR Director for Highland Spring Ltd., joined Highland Spring in May 2011, assuming responsibility for organisational development, reward and employee relations for over 400 UK-based staff, as well as driving cultural development programmes across the business. Fiona joined Highland Spring Ltd from Maxxium UK Ltd, where she was HR Director. She has over 15 years senior HR experience gained through a various roles within FMCG and electronics.

Marion Beattie, National Employer Services Manager, will talk about how Skills Development Scotland, the national skills body, can help businesses of all sizes to build, develop and get the best from their workforce.
Marion Beattie, Skills Development Scotland
Marion is currently National Employer Services Manager, part of the Industry and Enterprise Team within Skills Development Scotland. Marion and the team work with businesses, public sector bodies and agencies to support economic growth through skills investment.
Marion has been in this role for two years. Prior to this she was a manager with Careers Scotland with responsibility for Careers Scotland services to education, business and individuals within Tayside, spending two years in Perth and Kinross.Earlier in her career Marion worked in retail store management, as a population researcher with University of Dundee and in the co-ordinating volunteers in the third sector.
Synopsis
The aim of this session is to provide participants with an initial insight into themselves, their colleagues and their customers. It will enable them to gain a clear understanding of people’s different communication styles and preferences, and they will pick up tips on how to spot these differences and how to connect and communicate more effectively with others. Acting on this knowledge will enable participants to enhance relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
Louise Clark
Louise joined Insights in September 1995, working from the UK Head Office, supporting consultants in their sales and marketing efforts. After a very successful period where she was instrumental in establishing Insights in North America, Louise moved back to the UK in 2003, taking an Account Management Role in the Global business, supporting clients such a Novartis, British Telecom, HSBC and Accenture. In 2006 she moved into a Business Development role where she was responsible for handling all new business initiatives, new clients and prospects for the UK team.
In her current role of Regional Support Manager, Louise leads a team of 13 people and manages the support functions that enable the organisation to provide excellent service to its customers – a service excellence which was recognised in February 2012 at the Scottish Business Awards where Insights won the prestigious ‘Customer Focus’ Award.
Louise has exceptional presentation and facilitation skills and is at ease with a wide variety of audiences. As a speaker, her capacity to bring personal experiences and anecdotes into her sessions to ensure a worthwhile and rounded experience for participants is second to none. Louise firmly believes that in order to learn and grow, there must be ‘fun’ along the way. She has a very convincing and enthusiastic style and her boundless energy is infectious.

Synopsis
In this session participants will explore their Insights Discovery Personal Profile, enabling them to gain a fuller understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, communication style, areas for development, and the unique value they bring to their business or organisation. Participants will be supported to identify opportunities for development that they can put into practice immediately.
